Who can report a concern?

Anyone within the campus community who feels that an individual is exhibiting behaviours of concern, can alert the Behavioural Intervention Team (BIT).

What if I am wrong about the person?

It is important to know that you are contacting us because you are concerned for an individual who you believe is in need of assistance. By alerting the BIT about the concerning behaviour, you are entrusting that information into the hands of individuals who are well positioned to develop a plan and provide the student with necessary assistance.

Who has access to the information I provide?

The only people with access to the information you provide are members of the BIT and in certain instances, college administration.  The BIT only shares information on a strict need-to-know basis.

Will the person find out that I submitted information about them?

The BIT will try their best to address the situation as discreetly as possible. There is no guarantee that the individual will not be able to find out about your report. However, our main intention is to provide the necessary support for the individual and our efforts will be focused on doing that rather than to discuss how the information was provided.

How will I know if the situation has been addressed?

Rest assured, The BIT works quickly to address all reports we receive.

What if I am the individual of concern?

If you are worried about your own behaviour, there are support services available to you. Contact the BIT for more information.
